I had spent over 20 years in the corporate world; although I was successful in my field I started to feel unfulfilled and stressed in my career as I was approaching the 20 year mark. I truly enjoyed my career for many years and loved my co-workers, I started to feel there was another way to pursue a career and have a balanced life. That feeling became very strong after 9/11, as it did with many people, I started to reflect on what was important. I actually took a mini-sabbatical to help figure it out and reflect. So, by taking my interests in life balance and health, I decided to become a health coach. I saw the need in corporate environment as well as each individuals personal environment for guidance through this confusing world of having life balance and eating healthy. I received my training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I was trained in more than one hundred dietary theories and studied a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods. Drawing on this knowledge, I will help you create a completely personalized “roadmap to health” that suits your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and goals.

I am an IIN-certified holistic health coach and board-certified with the American Association of Drugless Practitioners and also a member IAHC (International Association for Health Coaches). I specialize in women's health (foods to balance hormones naturally and bone strengthening through food), heart-healthy meals, eating for energy, gluten-free, clean eating, reduce sugar cravings, improve body-image and corporate wellness and workshops.

What to expect while working with me:  We will start with a complimentary breakthrough meeting which we will discuss your health goals and concerns.  I believe that if you are not feeling your best, then something is out of balance. We will work together to help discover "your healthy balance". Achieving this balance is completely different for each individual, therefore, this is customized for you. You will have a completely confidential and safe environment to discuss all of your concerns. I will support and motivate you to stay focused on your health goals.

Who typically works with me? Middle aged women trying to sustain energy throughout the day so that they have the time and energy to spend with their family, friends and even their pets. I also typically work with women that struggle with a poor body-image to give them greater confidence with self and body. Why do we beat ourselves up and allow the internal negative talk?

My Training

I received my training as a Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition's cutting-edge Health Coach Training Program.

During my training, I studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. My teachers included Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities.

My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. Drawing on these skills and my knowledge of different dietary theories, I work with clients to help them make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.

I am always continuing my knowledge through workshops, coaching training and various health related courses and I always share these with my clients.

My Approach

The coaching always felt personal and tailored to my specific needs and concerns. The homework helps with accountability. The additional resources are very helpful - handouts, recipes, etc.

- Emily

I practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected. Does stress at your job or in your relationship cause you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole.

My approach is not to dwell on calories, carbs, fats, and proteins. It is not to create lists of restrictions or good and bad foods. Instead, I work with my clients to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun and rewarding. Our goal is to get you to feel good in your own body and don't focus on the number on your bathroom scale.
